Problem with aftermarket steering wheel / horn

Post by Libertine »

I recently bought a MOMO GT2 steering wheel off ebay..
Followed by an mr2 boss kit..

i've had the car in the garage today to fit the new wheel and when its fitted its causing the horn to go off none stop.. I'm told I was meant to get a some form of horn adapter.. to go behind the wheel..

This is the stock MR2 one :

I dont know if anything I just said is clear, but in short :

Bought a wheel ( Wheel only, nothing else )
Bought a boss kit for it
Tried to fit it but horn is constantly going off
Do I need anything or are the mechanics stupid ?

Thank you

also, as you can see on this photo.. the center piece is rubber :

On the back was just a rubber circle, nothing to attach any wires to..
is this how it should be ? or was something missing when I bought the wheel ?

I have a momo millenium evo wheel wich also has the leather centre bit, I took the boss from my corolla and made my own solution with the swivel horn these MR2's have, It sounds like its working fine but there could be a lose wire connecting the circuit or that the centre piece is pushing the horn down constantly!

I had this problem too, I bought a normal plastic horn button and mounted the centre piece over it but on the top screws I put a washer and a small spring so it sits a bit further out and doesnt push on the horn!
Hope this helps! :D
