Britball Run 2005

Post by Playbunny »

Well what a weekend I had!!!!!!!

1200 Miles....3 days and a Road Angel!!!!

We started off in birmingham at half 7 on Sat morning. There was 20 of us in total from a range of supras, RX7s to robin hoods and mini's. I was the only MR2 there.

We all got a packed lunch, lined up and send off with a min only appart. You had to work out the fastest and quickest route to places picking up your shopping list on way. Things like a golf ball, yesterdays paper. You did not go to the final destination straight away as you had to stop in other please to pick up things, like a toy from such and such services on M40 etc.

Arived in Scotland (Stirling) at about 5ish. We were 4th in. Not bad as we left Birmingham last. the Supra and GT3 beat us in. Got unpacked had food. Had a toy car race, paper airoplain race and got pi$$ed lol.

Back up for half 7 for food lol then briffing. Off we all left at 9 with a min between us. We left near the back again and back down to warwick we went. Again 4th in. bloody supra and GT3!!!!! Stayed at holiday in. Off we went for a photo shoot and a Kings feast at warwick castle. Again the drink was flowing!!!!!

Back up at 7 am, briffing then off to wales and back. And yes I did buy a sheep lol. Had to stop at M40, M4, M5. was a mission. But we was on a mission we started in the middle of the pack and was going to come in first and .........we did. Came in about half hour before anyone else. I wont tell you the speeds lol Beat the supra and the GT3

Car came back in one bit....just lol........Got no front barkes and cant find reverse but thats it. Engine is sweet and it did not miss a beat

It was a top weekend. I think the amircans won it and fair play to them. They were off across fields etc. They did anything to shave them miles!!!!!!

Anyway here are some pics.......

What is the cost of entrance?
The cost of entrance for the 2005 event is £595 per vehicle (which includes two people for the 3-days) Organising this type of event isn’t cheap. The cost of entrance has been calculated by adding together the large fixed costs such as venues, application for special licence, and legal costs with the sum of the variable costs of accommodation, meals etc for each likely team. This total cost was then simply divided by the expected number of teams to get a final cost per vehicle. Britballrun is designed to bring the thrill of the tour to all at an affordable price and is managed to break-even.
Note that every penny of the entrance fee is put into the event and not our pockets!

Can additional people be included in each vehicle (i.e. more than two)?
Yes, but each extra person in the vehicle will cost an additional £285 and will have the same privileges.

Is the event legal?
The event will be approved and fully authorised under the Motor Vehicles (Competitions and Trails) Regulations and the Road Traffic Act, and licence will be granted for the event to proceed by the Motor Sports Association (who acts as the approval body for all motor sports events in England and Wales (and the RSAC for Scotland) and informs details to local police authorities). (See Standard Terms and Conditions and Rules (part of the application pack).)

Does the event support any charity?
Yes. Teams will be encouraged to raise money for charity. Similar to running a marathon, sponsor forms will be included in the entrance pack. This helps to both promote the event and raise money for a good cause. After the event, Britballrun will submit all sponsor funds raised by entrants to Children in Need. Completing the sponsor form is optional.
