Just get a hold of some stainless and drill accordingly.

I used 20x3 flat bar and hammered in some bolts like this

http://www.npfasteners.com/nfh.shtml

Just hammer them in and get nuts to suit. Its a pig to keep the brackets from falling out when you go to put the skin back on. I tried to glue them in position but they fell out again.

Coanda's plates are a lot neater than mine - I took my bumper off on Sunday so will post up a picture of mine later.

The problem with countersunk bolt is...how are you going to hold the bolt through the strip, while trying to put the nut on, while holding the bumper skin?

Yeah, a little dab of some glue (prob any glue) will be enough to hold the countrsink in place until it was nearly tightened and then friction will do the rest.

Wickes sell the strips in a standard thickness and 3 or 4 different widths. You'll need very shallow CSKs to get that to work but it should - I would look at the fasteners you can get before deciding on the final way forward - I went with riv nuts because they are ally, easy to get, and the bolts will look neater than the studs and flanged nuts will.

Coach bolts have a square section just below the head - file out the hole in the strip so it's square, and they won't turn ;)

They're all M6 IIRC.

Length is variable.

I'd have to check the thread spacing, but it's the same as the common M6 bolts you'd get from Halfrauds and B&Q.

Edit: Thread is 1.0 :thumleft:

I have the two short strips that go in front of the headlamp pods David

Slight surface rust in some areas but absolutely usable

Will let them go if they're any use to you ?

PM me if you're interested

M6 IS the thread size

...M6 is just the diameter of the bolts (size)

So the thread pitch, is maybe 1.0?

Soz, Im being lazy,i should just unbolt one, Hehe
