Good to see there's interest!!!
I'm going to get it MOT'd in a week or two & get the bonnet scoop either finished or blanked back off (prob blank off & refit solid bonnet.) Get it washed & polished and get it sold.

Re: What's it worth. mk1.5 MR2
What a nice example. I really would love a MK1 at some point and with the engine swap it`s got so much more appeal. Shame I have the rev1 project on the go plus a van and a daily driver I have no space! Tempting but I couldn't give it the home it deserves because of that or I might sling you an offer.
As for price and what is it worth.. If it was mine I would take no less than 3.5k, but I`d say it`s worth more than that to you and factor in labour and hassle of the conversion and sorting issues... It`s worth more if someone is willing to pay. But people don't want to part with the money, you need the right person to come along. If I was you I`d just keep it forever! Don't sell it!lol.

Pmsl! I've been doing a lot of ummimg & ahhimg about it & planning on what to do car wise. Plus the fact I'm working 6 days a week has meant I'm not getting any free or spare time to get anything sorted.
I'm going to sort MOT out as soon as I get chance and get it advertised properly for £2500 (or maybe £3500 going of what interest there is!!! Ha)

I'm also potentially interested in this, depending on the outcome of whether my FD is dead or not. If you decide to sell, drop me an email to [email protected], I have cash waiting (just need to decide between a MK1.5 or a V8 MX5...)

Its a month later ... so where is the mot news and price then? They are not appreciating asets that will go from 2.5 to 3.5 to 4.5k just because you leave it a month

If you can't see the angle, you're in trouble.

Cheers guys, I'm am aware of the time scales, but I'm also working 10-12 hour days 5.5 days a week at the moment so finding time to get it ready for & MOT'd is hard. I'm not expecting it to be an appreciating asset as the £4.5k was clearly a joke!
Rest assured, it will get sorted and be less than £15000!

I'll answer this one.
They are simply awersome!!
Great traction, unbelievable acceleration (really must be experienced to be believed), lots of torque and usable power at any revs (makes slow driving as enjoyable as quick driving), the same poise, balance, chuck-ability and driving pleasure as any standard mk1 but with the added bonus of what my friends call 'instant somewhere elseness'. You don't need to teleport when you've got a mk1.5, seriously they really do feel that fast. I've driven a diverse range of fast cars; escort cosworth, TVR Griffith 500, 4.1l v8 Porsche 924, vx220 turbo, Leon Cupra R, E36 328, 200bhp mk1 mr2 rally car, I recently had a go in the co-driver seat of a 300bhp supercharged k20 engined metro 6r4 and honestly only the metro comes close to the mk1.5 for sheer acceleration, they really are a special beast.
I now can't wait to get mine working again (I bust a piston by over revving during a burnout at Santa Pod, but it still ran 13.5s for the quarter on 3cylinders with a huge cloud of blue/white smoke behind).

^ what he said, minus the bust piston

I missed a few things out about the broken engine.
After making a mess of it on the first run of the day at the PPC 999 challenge I managed another few sub 14sec runs on 3cyl and an afternoon of autosolo and finished 10 out of 40. The car then dragged us over 100miles back to cheshire (avoiding motorways due to the following smoke cloud). We did have to stop for oil after 60 odd miles and due to the unpredictable boost delivery with only 3/4 of an engine we did have a half spin on the A5 in the rain.
Awesome cars!!!

Do you have it sorted yet? I am in the market for a 1.5 and have cash waiting (although there seems to be a bit of a queue...)
If not would you sell it without the MOT, assuming it doesn't need much of course?
