only a small one when welding but soon got that out more smoke than anything..
pretty sure its something with the 5th injector but gotta strip it back too see
at long last fitted the oil relocator rather than leaving it hanging
ad found the source of the fuel leak
so that was replaced with the one off my mk1 manifold
then
with a bit of coaxing this happened http://smg.photobucket.com/user/petandk ... F.mp4.html
it runs and idles for a few secs at 3k then tries to cut out then tap throttle comes back again
takes ages to get it started..
hoping Paul woods and Peter Gidden are gonna jump forward with where to go now..
got to fit the exhaust and put the alternator belt on this weekend hopefully
but I am well chuffed
TPS set up is done and no longer have any ECU faults coming up
will set teh air mass screw to standard tonight
hopefully get my new cap and leads today..
also i can select gears.. YAY
still got clutch bleeding to do but so close now
the forward back selector did not need adjusted
but the left and right selector was too short, so cut and put thread on each and then threaded tubein middle to get extra length.. sorted.
will get pics later today
Sorry ages since an updated
But we now have a working clutch
Brakes all sorted and bled through lovely hard pedal
Also gear selection sorted
Front engine mount fitted
All I have left is refit under trays
Fit on exhaust will hopefully be able to sort somethjng with that this week (thanks Peter g)
And fit new air mass meter with any luck will sort any running problems
well whilst awaiting for my new air mass meter to arrive i thought i would have a little look at my old one (being an elec engineer)
basically it was reading fine when open and when closed
the the readings should go in a wave form, but mine were all over the place with it going open curcuit too
so it couldn't get much worse.
opened it up
found the small fingers on the arm of the patentiometer was barely touching the curcuit hence the dodgy readings
expect the loose their 'spring' and probably the most usual cause for failure
so took the arm off cleaned up, bent the fingers so still in the same place but with more of a spring and pushing down onto the boasrd as it should
lots of electra clean as the board was dirty as well giving bad readings as i went across it.
tested and seems to be now reading perfectly and very smooth wave form resistance
pics.
all back together and reading much nicer..
ill give it a try tomorrow
that will just leave the exhaust to do IF it works.. but we shall see
Well the old one was defo reading incorrectly before now it reads as it should
Just tried the known one it decidedit does not want to fire up at all new or old.. Grrrrrrr
I need to spend sometime on it
So my old one may be fixed
I have a good strong spark and checked the timing but still won't fire
Next is check fuel
well after much farting around etc.. eventually foudn the cam timing 1 tooth outlive a and learn
now changed (that was a pig of a job in the car)
started and it idle for about 20secs before it died but revs much happier as you would expect.
died cos the dizzy was too loose and moved where been adjusting it, so gotta set that up this week
i also picked up a single exit exhaust so happy dayz i car get that on as really did not want a twin
