sounds like the old turbo etc could have been contaminated from the previous engine. thats if the new engine is knackered, theres only one way to find out.

The engine is a rev2. I was wondering about the squeeling belt, may not be charging the battery, explaining the battery light, and not powering fans, meaning that light is on too, but what is the other light?

And im not entirely concerned about the lights, Im more xxxxx off that it sounds light bottom end failure again?

How are you getting on mate??

Surely the garage have to sort out all these issues??

Must admit, when I looked at the receipt and saw that the old turbo was reused, that was my first thought as well.

Well a friend has just mention this to me about fitting old turbo. So I phoned turbo technics. The said this most certainly wont be the case. I also evotune which has just built my friends galanza which is running amazingly, they said they would put money on the oil cooler not being changed.
The only warning I was given about using the blitz kkk was when engine is worn in and tuned back up to around 1 bar, was that it may pop pistons etc. But the fact its not plumbed in should prevent that from happening.

Sounds like cross-contamination of some sort.

Oil coolers MUST be binned and replaced following an internal engine failure. All hoses should be fully washed out.

Garage are collecting on monday. Obviously I have no idea if oil cooler was changed. Would this be part of the engine when fitted as my recipe doesn't say oil cooler.

You'll have to ask whoever installed the engine.

The car is being collected tomorrow. Few questions. probably very silly.

1. As you know the car was using alot of water. I have been checking the high pressure tap, which has genrally near full. But the water bottle is empty again. Should this be full, as I was told to keep it full, but a glanza owner was saying its not ment to be filled?

2. I said a belt was squeeling alot, squeel has gone, but now my battery is dead. Would this also be the reson for the engine fan light and a box with heat waves light. As in does this belt run the fan etc or is it just the fact the battery is dead?

3. Can someone tell me exactly what the two warning lights are.
An engine with a fan in front, and a box with heat waves coming from it?

4. The same galanza owner, also seems to think the engine is running sweet, and said he would be over the moon if his car ran that well. Do most mr2s have a bit of a knock around 2krpm, could a few of you compare with yours?

5. If the alternator belt, or alternator itself and starter motor, is faulty etc, should I be expected to foot the bill for parts, labour and the recovery to get it to the garage, as these parts are part of the engine fit?

Did the same place supply and fit the engine?

Or did you source the engine and have a garage fit it?

Just give it back mate and tell them to inspect it.

They need to put whatever is wrong right if there is anything wrong with the engine.

I'd then take it to one of the specialists and ask then to give it a check up. You may find the engine is good but you have other issues causing you troubles. They'll also tell you if the engine sounds good. If the specialists say its ok, it ok. If they say its xxxxx, take it back again.

It's cheaper for them to sort it out in the long run.

Or take it straight for an engineers report.

Its an overflow tank so it should have water in it so the cooling system can draw it in or dump it back in

Has it spat the belt off? it may have been too tight so it may have broken the belt

One of them is exhaust temp which is a sensor in the de cat, when you have a de cat it will permanently be on unless you unplug it, which is fine

the other i think is the engine lid sensor, does your intercooler fan kick in?

4. The same galanza owner, also seems to think the engine is running sweet, and said he would be over the moon if his car ran that well. Do most mr2s have a bit of a knock around 2krpm, could a few of you compare with yours?

As i said mine does but im 99% sure its not correct lol try and ask your mate to hold the revs while you listen to the gearbox and exhaust manifold

5. If the alternator belt, or alternator itself and starter motor, is faulty etc, should I be expected to foot the bill for parts, labour and the recovery to get it to the garage, as these parts are part of the engine fit?

I would check the wiring as its all been off, it could have blown the main fuse on the pos terminal on the battery, and check the earths on the wiring loom i.e behind the inlet manifold
