I know there are 2 water temperature senders on the coolant elbow, did you change the "correct" one? I don't know which is which though I'm afraid lol.
Other than that, timing possibly?

Green ecu sensor changed. Timing at 10deg, it almost dies when i bridge te1 and e1 though which is odd
I'm going to vent the pcv to atmosphere today see if that helps

Re: rev3 cold idle speeds
Put a Honda pcv valve i had laying about, 1500rpm cold idle! My pcv valve seems very rattly. Generally drives better too....

Re: rev3 cold idle speeds
My rev 3 turbo sits around 1250rpm on cold idle with no electrics on (lights, heater, stereo).
If I put aircon on and select full hot, it cold idles around 1500 rpm.
If it has been a very very cold night well below freezing, the cold idle is around 1500 rpm before turning other electrics on.

Re: rev3 cold idle speeds
Spoke too soon, idle too high again and even the hesitation is back. It's about time I gave up on it
Re: rev3 cold idle speeds
Mine idles 1500 cold slowly rising to 2000 too, only for a minute though, would love to know how to sort this out, but other than that, she runs pretty nice, and once warmed up its ~900rpm. Gonna chane my ecu temp sensor but Im not sure this will do anything, think it is quite normal. Does anyones rev 3 NOT do this, and if so what speed idle on cold days?
Re: rev3 cold idle speeds
It's not normal, the sodding thing drives itself when its cold. But ive changed everything now, not really feeling the car anymore

If it really annoys you that much, and you still don't know what the problem is then why not just take it to an mr2 specialist and get them to fix it?
Re: rev3 cold idle speeds
I'm in the trade and I still cant fix it, with all the equipment in the world, I very mucj doubt a 'specialist' will do any better. I've lost heart with it now

Ah fair enough, i like to have a crack at things myself, but anything too persistent/complex and i'll resort to the experts!
Re: rev3 cold idle speeds
With no lambda sensor hooked up its far better, even though it "shouldn't make a shits worth of difference" when first starting up
