[Mk2] [Turbo] Not running on cylinder number 4 until warm

Post by toecutter »

Rev 2 turbo

when started from cold, cylinder no 4 dosent catch for about 30 seconds.

Plugs, rotor and cap are all recent, gap is fine on the plug.

What could be causing this?

Have you checked if there is a spark and fuel getting to the problem cylinder?

Possibly a lazy injector?

I thought it must be getting spark and fuel as it catches after about 30 secs and then runs fine.

Could try injector, I have 8 spare :)

Never assume anything when diagnosing faults.

How do you know it's no.4? (not suggesting it's not, just asking).

Have you tried swapping no.4 plug?

Injectors are generally very reliable. Be double sure it's not ignition before you start pulling injectors.

Pulled the lead off and it didnt affect it.

Didn't try swapping plug, will do that when exhaust manifold ect is back on.
