So you're telling that gen3 3sgte pump will cavitate with higher rpm.

Can you please tell for me what kind of experiece you have within case and what the cavitation makes for pump?

I have been fighting long time with the pump issue with my circuit track mr2.

Pumps

(3 already) keeps eating its housing and crap from gears will make very bad scratches inside of the engine.

I have been thinking that oil is moving out from sump at cornesrs
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
and using dry too long time causes the scenario.

Modified sump looks to make damage inside of the pump lighter but haven't got complete succes.

If the reving over can broke pump like that thats option for me also.

Limiter is up to 8000rpm but it goes easily higher with lower gears because soft limiter on ecu software.

Latest idea is to fit dry sump for it

If genuine pump is still in use but it's need for lift is reduced because tank is higher, can this issue still continue or not?

How the black top oilpump differs if it's cabable to 10k? What is the difference between upper sump peace of it and gen3? Is it available to modified it to fit gen3 or is it totally different? Example 5s pump body looks same as gen3 3s but with overal pressure controller, crankshaft sensor etc and available quite easily modified to fit gen3 3s.
