Assess my front end damage

Post by danjama »

This happened after coming off a wet roundabout sideways. Just kissed a sign post.

The rub strip is held there by a few rusty screws, the front screw mount has snapped. I sometimes have to pop it back in place. The front bumper is slightly cracked and scratched etc. The wing has a small and large ding in it. Ideally this means wing and bumper replaced.

How much will this set me back? What if im willing to do the work myself?

Wish i had a local expert to take a look and advise. Want to get her perfect again.

Does not look too bad, lucky really. I would replace the wing and rub strip, fill the crack on the bumper and touch up with a rattle can. Your prob will be finding parts that match your cars colour, 3E5 red does tend to fade a lot. Maybe once all repair work is gone give the whole car a mop :thumleft:

Replacing the sidelight unit is a cheap 2nd hand job, lots available.

I do happen to have a red wing sat in the shed if your nearby, can have it cheap

Thanks. I'm thinking the same pretty much, but maybe replace the bumper as it's looking tatty now.

Would you consider posting the wing? If it's in good condition and still proper 3e5. As you say, hard to find red ones in good condition. No good ones on ebay at the moment.

Have posted on here about rub strip but none about in red and there's none on ebay. Been checking every week.

Don't know if it's of any interest but my stock bumper will be coming off soon as I've got hold of a Border - it's not standard red (whole car has been resprayed) but you can just have it if you're near Northampton mate :thumleft:

Heres the wing

To be fair upon inspection it has picked up some scratches during storage so would be best having it sprayed, it is straight though no dings.

Yours FOC if you can collect :thumleft:

That doesn't look shabby at all! Unable to collect as i'm way down in Romford.

Would you allow me to pay postage and packaging (boxed and bubblewrap)? With no pressure on time at all, just whenever you get the chance.
