Retro stereo help...

Post by Ben »

I'm completely baffled by the stereo in my SE. It has an aux in port, but I can't work out how to switch the input so it actually plays from thd aux input.

Any ideas? There is a button above the aux port (below) but it doesn't appear to do anything :?

Its a headphone socket

No idea really, usually you press source or something, but it looks too old for that. I had a stereo once with and aux input, but no source button, it took me 2 months to figure out you had to press the CD button twice :?

Given the line around CD and aux in, try the CD button. Otherwise... Press until something happens :D

Thanks chaps :thumleft:

A word with the previous owner confirms that the CD button should switch it to the aux in. After pressing it many many times, I can confirm that it doesn't work #-o

Given that my electrical knowledge goes as far as knowing which way round the batteries go in the TV remote, I'll get my old man to have a look at it at some point - he's a retired electronic engineer.

Yep, that was my other option. I remember having one of those in my first car (a 950cc Citroen AX), along with a Sony discman mounted on the dash and a couple of 6x9s on the parcel shelf

Even better as You´ll won´t need a extern mp3 player by using one of these:

It´s the perfect solution IMHO. No fly around extern player needed, easy to update on the computer and it evan have a headphone jack so You can use it outsite the car too. And the best: It´s cheap.
