[Mk2] [Generic] Converting to manual steering
Hi all, may seem a bit strange but I wanna do away with the power steering setup in my mk2 and was wondering if anyone knew if a mk1 rack would go on ok???

With enough time and money, anything is possible.

Why not fit a rack from a UK Rev1?

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Converting to manual steering
That's the reply I was looking for
I didn't know the rev 1 didn't have power steering
that's happy days for me.
Thanks for your help.
Need the pump etc to be out the way to make room for some exhaust pipes lol

exhaust pipes up front?

I dont think a non power steering rack will bolt into a power steering racked mr2, without some fabrication.![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Converting to manual steering
So to fit a v12 in a mkII you need a front exit exhaust? That's gonna be awesome ![Laughing ](./images/smilies/icon_lol.gif)

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Converting to manual steering
A little fabrication I don't mind, just want something that's almost the same in dimensions as the original.

I'm running a GT4088 turbo with front mount intercooler which is why the exhaust pipe are there![Wink ;-)](./images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Converting to manual steering
so your intercooler and exhaust is going to be near the front bumper?
Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Converting to manual steering
The intercooler is gonna be in the front bumper replacing the air con rad and radiator
( get a thicker intercooler that way
) as for the exhaust ill probably run it parallel to the pipe going to the turbo back down to the rear.
Not to sure yet ![Wink ;-)](./images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Converting to manual steering
Bolted the rev1 rack up today, bolts into the chassis all well and good but the steering column doesn't reach
just bought a rev1 to match this rack, hopefully lol

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Converting to manual steering
Received the rev1 steering column today, is it necessary to to change the whole column or can I just change the crash link? Hopefully get time to have a go at it tomorrow
