Police camera action

Post by Ethan21 »

Dunno if anyone will be able to help at all :( but...

I'm looking for a video of a red mr2 GTS in a police chase I remember watching it on itv4 show police, camera, action a long time ago, but I don't know what episode.

I cant seem to find this video anywhere on the Internet. It was interesting as it just goes to show how fast these things really were way back in circa 1994 compared to other road going cars. It seemed to smoke everything off the road even police bikes and the helicopter

If anyone knows what I'm on about Do you know where i can get it or have a link to it?

Thanks :thumleft:

I suspect you'll find that all the other drivers/riders were driving safely, and that the MR2 wasn't really at warp speed.

There is a brilliant old clip of a Mk2 Mr2 racing an Uno Turbo on police camera action.. they top out at around 130, police car struggling to keep up.. The Uno won IIRC :D

Don't ruin my perception of reality. So you are as suggesting 2's don't have warp drive engines and can't reach a warp speed of 9.8 at risk?

I know the one you mean.

IIRC it was 1993.

Did not know it was a GTS though, what makes you say that?

I've never found it on the tinterwebz :(

Bit of info from my memory banks:
They were Post Office robbers from Manchester.
There were police motorbikes in the chase too
It ended up having a head-on crash with another car - the woman driver of the other car had a terrible time claiming from her insurance company as they would not believe it was not her fault - she ended up buying the video and sending it to them

That's the one, I thought in the Commentary they mentioned it was a gts may well be wrong though it was a long time ago

I think imports were quite rare back then.
And IIRC all the commentary was from the helicopter (apart from that by PC Tony Stamp  ), people in helicopter wouldn't be able to tell a GTS from at UK GTi-16 :D
