Any good high resolutions of it??

It would be cool to put together some sort of collection of all these rarer kits, except the really horrendous ones.

When i grow up and become a big car, i want to be a Corvette.

Unfortunately baby car, only the ugly duckling grew to become a beautiful white swan.

You'll be ugly forever.

One of my biggest gripes with any body kit, is when it has the mesh on the back. The hell is it protecting? Any 'gaps' like that that're clearly just to make the car look lower, annoy me. :(

Which is incidentally how I discovered 'spats' all that time ago. ;)

Lol. Breitbau kit is probably the only one pictured on this thread that I would actually go for. Rare too - don't think there were many people who actually got that kit fitted.

The guy quoted me about 5K when I asked him how much it would cost for the kit which unfortunately is a little out of my price range - especially if you add the fitting and painting costs on top!

Yeah, it's a savage looking bit o kit IMO. The rear section is all one piece though... Bit ambitious?

I read on some of the European forums (website auto translate is a useful function) that the fitment of the Breitbau kit wasn't great and that it needed a lot of additional bodyshop work to fit the kit.

The company claimed a weight reduction of 50kg once the kit was fitted although I wonder if this was comparing the original panels that were replaced with the weight of an unpainted kit as that sounds like an unusually large weight saving :-k

Would love to find a finished (and heavily depreciated in price) car for sale though  There was one that came up on ebay österreich a couple of years back that was an N/A and had a slipping clutch that sold for not very much IIRC but a little too far away for me, lol.

I've got some rare Japanese magazines upstairs with numerous rare body kits and bits and bobs, (including both mr2 hyper rev magazines).

If I remember I will scan them in later for all to see :thumleft:

Ps that corvette wanna be rear kit is just vile!!! Lol

Please do Karl :thumleft:

I suspected the Breitbau was a bit ambitious  50kg could be reasonable if you're removing metal and replacing with fibreglass? That has its own implications, mind you...

When I get home I will scan and upload some pages from some of the magazines. I find the pages and pages of aftermarket parts rather interesting... I'm sad like that! Lol.

I love the look of the mc8 as well, although there is a slight snag with getting your car to look like that...

That is an original sard mc8 and not a kit. To the best of my knowledge (and I did look into it for a project) there was never an mc8 style kit made. The only way you can achieve those looks is by custom building your own bodykit ... And don't forget that you'd have to lengthen the body pan of the mr2. It would be a lot of work, but still it might be worth it as an interesting project :-k

As requested...

I opened a few of my magazines on some random pages and scanned a few pictures tonight. There is literally hundreds of pages of individual aftermarket parts, car mods, etc... Hence just a random selection!

Any special requests then let me know and I will see if its in there
