+1 - JDM rare isn't always a good thing! Lol

I've not seen the other body kit before - what is it?

I'm a fan of the original design tbh. I think that Toyota did a brilliant job with the car as it is, and all that's needed is a few subtle tweaks here and there.

I understand the appeal of body kits but they really aren't for me. I find rare jdm kits interesting but wouldn't ever stick one on my car. Hence why my car is getting a beast of an engine and is going to be a bit of a sleeper. I fear that lots of lovely mr2s were destroyed by horrid kits ](*,)

Besides we all know that the best bolt on kit is the trd widebody :oldtongue: lol

The widebody kit is quite interesting. The back end is a little too full and quite Porsche like (which isn't necessarily a bad thing, just different on a '2) but the best of it is quite subtle.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I personally quite like having a bit of a Marmite car, as your motivation for buying and styling a car shouldn't be solely to impress others. I still look at photos of my old car with very fond eyes, which was pretty standard body wise. So it's not always the kit used, it's the execution of the vision you have. :)

I like the widebody kits that accentuate the existing lines of the car which, to me anyway, has a fairly balanced look.

I cant say that I am into the 6R4/Quattro Sport boxy appendages though!

Mine will stay unkitted and may even become a sleeper if i find an upgrade at the right price!

Funny enough, I was just chatting with some of the guys about wide body kits last night. Here are a few of the pics I dug up.

I would tend to disagree with that comment Karl. I think the Border kit is a lot nicer looking than the TRD kit in my opinion of course

Pretty much my thoughts.

Agreed with Red, not better looking than the TRD but atleast as good looking, I see it as the cheap mans TRD, gives a similar look.

Wow, I've never seen one before but that red "palatina" mr2 posted looks really good.

I'm of the opinion that nothing beats the TRD (but I would be wouldn't I!) and like the toms because it has a similar look but keeps the lines of standard car. Not really the biggest fan of border kits though, they just look a tad garish to me and the side skirts are very shapeless and boxy.

It appears that this body kit lark is very much a personal thing!

The Palatina kit is one in a million. Shame, it is nice. Halfway house to a 355 replica.

I agree. The things i hate about the TRD kits are how the wings meet the doors and the rear light recessed in. Both these parts look totally gash in my opinion

I very nearly bought an Ask Sport demo car from Japan about 18 months ago...

But to be honest when I requested more photos and they took some showing how the rear bit lifted off, it was really a rough job. Didn't fancy it much after that!
