[Mk2] [Turbo] N/a to turbo swap hows the wiring work?

Post by chaos19810 »

Ive been given a shell from a friend who only wants the engine and the seats from the car which is fine by me.

The car i have a rev1 tubby engine in a 1991 g limited shell and the car i'm putting it into is a rev1/2 n/a the swap around i think i can manage with some virtual help from you guys but its the wiring that is worrying me?

Im going to strip everything from the car but do i rewire the n/a to fit or try and put my current harness into the new car.

Just to throw a spanner in the works im using a rev3 ecu and engine loom?

thanks

Fit the engine/box etc. Plug engine loom in and either:

it won't turn over - easy fix
it'll fire but stall shortly after - easy fix

If Rev1 car, you'll need to sort out a cable adaptor for speedo drive, or convert to electric.

You'll also need to change fuel pump (or tank and pump).

So I should be able to to use most of the wiring loom already in the car? That will make things easier and I can also upgrade my fuel pump at the same time
