Hi all, just wondering if the few stray ponies (bhp) from the later mk2's that were lost due to stupid emissions laws can be re-gained easily enough or is it not that simple?
Was it a restriction in the ECU or were the engines manufactured using different components etc?
Just a thought, but i wouldn't mind a little more power. If it's going to be a big expensive hoo haa then i'll make do for now because i'm almost skint after the cambelt, new radiator etc.

You might not actually be running stock 168BHP anyway...
I dyno'd mine and a fair few horses have bolted! So not at stock. Got a stainless steel exhaust with decat now which may have helped as the removed exhaust looked like it was starting to deterioate.

Yeah, my exhaust link looks pretty rusty and a bit flakey, not blowing at all yet but a full system of some kind is on the cards at some point.. Again, it'll have to wait till money allows, like everything else i "want" to do...

The minor redution in peak power of the Rev4/5 N/As is attributed to the EGR system and isn't noticeable when driving so no big deal.

my rev 5 has
k+n air filter
single exit exhaust with hi-flow cat
trd ignition leads
thats about it really and after a good service ran ion dyno and produced this
it really has no other modifications

Behave! lol
Alan - Nice one. if i went for a single ext exhaust, i'd have to ditch my rear splitter (which i've not seen another one like as yet!)... Not bad gains from fairly basic mod though! Fair play

So was there no EGR on the rev1-3?
Ive just had mine removed on my HDi, the car seems smoother, but could all be in my imagination...
