Our Track Car has been reduced to £3995 ONO

Post by k11cpc »

OK so our car has had some parts removed over the last few weeks so that we can reduce the price. The car now has the following spec:

Rev3 Chassis however engine is Rev2
FIA PP Cages 6 Point Cage from Rogue
Cobra FIA Seat in date
TRS 6 Point FIA Harness in date
XYZ Fully Adjustable Coilovers (similar to BC)
Super Pro Polly Bushes all round
Fensport Actuator
ATS Racing CT 27 Turbo (hybrid just overhauled with new bearings and seals)
De Cat down pipe
HKS Silent Hi Power Cat Back (95db at most so track friendly)
Two sets of Standard wheels both finished in Matt Black
Toms Front Bumper and Skirts (replica)
TRD Rad Cap
Rogue/Radtech Charge Cooler
Stainless Air Filter
HKS FCD
Alloy Door Cards
Sport Steering wheel
Greddy B Spec 2 Boost Controler and Boost Guage
Spare Engine included however needs a rebuild as it has a cracked piston

Looking for £3995 ono

Looks like this without the XYZ brake kit and the wheels are different now stock in matt black as below:

The MOT expired in Feb however this car has new ball joints, drop links, bushes etc and is pretty clean underneath so should pass with no problem just not used it hence no MOT. Would make a great track day car or with the addition of a cut off switch and fire extinguisher would make a great MR2 championship entry..

looks a nice car and pretty good value for a race spec car (will nearly race spec) but a fire system and cut offs aren't expensive, although it's not eligible for the 750 motor club sanctioned MR2 championship normally aspirated only and no adjustable suspension either this is to keep costs down, it could find a home in the Nippon Challenge probably GT 300 class where it would be up against impreza’s and evo’s etc or there are lots of hillclimbs , sprints etc up and down the country, and quite surprisingly you don’t see that many MR2s in comparison with the aforementioned scoobies and evos, it would be great to see a MR2 strutting it’s stuff,

yes you could run in super GT but not MR2 chamionship see link

http://www.750mc.co.uk/F-mr2.php

from tech regs section 5.7engines
Class A: 4AGE as fitted to the Toyota MR2.
Class B: 3SGE excluding BEAMS VVTi version.
Class C: 1ZZFE as fitted to the Toyota MR2.
The only modifications permitted to engines are those listed in
paragraph 1 (Modifications Permitted) below; if the following texts
do not clearly specify that you can do it, you should work on the
principle that you cannot. It is the competitor’s responsibility to
ensure that no prohibited modifications have been carried out, if
they are using an engine not assembled by them.

no mention of turbo engines

section 5.8 suspension
Uprated/lowered springs are permitted provided they are the same
outside diameter as the standard coil and are made from one
continuous length of wire. Adjustability of suspension geometry is
limited to that provided by the vehicle manufacturer for the standard
suspension; Dampers may only be of the following type:
Standard Toyota
Bilstein Toyota (Black)
Bilstein B6 (Yellow)
No modifications may be made at all to the Bilstein dampers.
Standard Toyota dampers may have the oil changed, and the
specification of that oil is free - no other modifications are permitted.

no coilovers allowed

The mr2 championship is for more or less production cars, preparation is largely limited to MSA safety requirements the idea is to keep costs to a minimum by not allowing expensive mods, the super GT cars in the other hand are completely different and are highly modified money no object things , almost anything goes full aero packs, engine swaps, big brakes you name it, your dreaming if you think your car (fast as it may be ) would be competitive in super GT, your car would be better off in the Nippon where it would be a good foundation for a decent GT300 race car, I’m surprised there aren’t any competing there already the MR2 turbo seems tailor made for GT300 .

I don’t mean to be pedantic but I’m building a car myself hopefully to be eligible for both the MR2 championship and GT200 in the Nippon, I’m avoiding turbo cars due to the likely hood of expensive engine builds (motor racing isn’t cheap to begin with and my budget it limited at best)
Good luck with the sale and I hope your car finds a new home and does eventually get involved in some form of racing.

Don't think he ever claimed it could run in the stock championship buddy, I think we all realise that is for NA's :thumleft:

This would make a great starting point for anyone wanting to enter the Super GT Class with lots of room for development 8)
