am sure that car had been for sale for quite some time, so probably been sitting a while

Falkirk is fairly close, I take my car to stainless creations, give them a call and get them to look over it

rev2 with a respray surely??

a genuine rev4 sonic shadow has dark side strips, indicators on the wings etc etc and would certainly not have a rev1/2 spoiler (unlikely anyone would choose to go from rev3/4 spoiler to rev1/2).

having said all that the outside looks nice, interior could do with some cleaning up.

defo a rev2 turbo engine as has been already stated.

if this was sold as a rev3 or rev4 car, id be p*ssed really.
helps to do ya homework i guess.

It had been knocking about on auto trader for ages. The bloke was wanting £4000 originally but it all looks too miss matched. I thought it had been rebuilt for a couple of different cars!

Don't necessarily be put off just because heritage is currently unknown! If its a good car, and you like it, then it doesn't really matter!

They all need work mate, the oldest of em are over 20 years old now, yours looking like a Rev2 puts it in that age bracket. "Needing work" comes with the territory, its just down to how much work, and whether it is worth it to you.

Mine is a 93 and it had sat stagnant for most of 7 years, this had been good to the car in some ways, not so good in other ways... everyone and their dog has been in about it and so I'm putting it all straight. Work? Yup - but when I'm negotiating greasy bends on the cusp of boost, using the accelerator to steer the car... its all worth it lol

On the surface its a tidy looking car! I think it is prob a Rev2 with a respray - I had been looking for a 2' for a while before I got mine, and I actually seen a few reprayed exactly like like that, most of them A1 spray jobs - don't know if it was a popular colour scheme in Japan or something?

Could be as simple as that mate.

Don't be put off unless you know for a fact its more hassle than its worth!

If you can drive through to Kilmarnock, GI Motorsport are a great bunch of guys. I'm sure the Edinburgh guys would take a look over it too for ya - hell I'm in Lanarkshire for a few days from tomorrow night, (Law area), although I'm no expert, I could take a look/shot and tell you what I reckon if it will help put your mind at ease :)

Agreed I have a 90 gt turbo and it's 22 years old so obviously it needs attention a lot but it's worth it. I am constantly fiddling with mine to my misses discust not in a derogatory manor. When there broken they are annoying but it always makes me smile and I drive it everyday.

You need to expect cars need work especially modified or performance cars. These cars hold up incredibly well though and still look modern for an old car.

Yup, its a shape that isn't dated. Well, apart from the orange indicators at the front, and the rev2 rear light clusters - but the OPs car has the later rear lights and centre panel.

The lights, IMO, is the only thing that dates the car. I was working away on mine tonight, and a group of kids came by, and were all like "wow, your car is amazing mister" - when I told them it was 20 years old they didnt believe me lol!!

Agreed I always toy with the idea of rev3 lights and rev1 spoiler

it is a joy to drive but the more i drive the more i notice wee things... gonna need to put it into a specialist when i get some money together, ive just bought 4 drop links for her too.. i noticed all these things when i test drove but wasnt too bothered cos i thought it was a rev3 plus which i wanted... and was going to keep and do up the way i want it, finding out it was a rev2 just kicked me in the teeth lol.

i got the work gear on just now gonna try fix my misfire, also its overboosting now. how much you want for the rev 2 dipstick tube 4ndee? the boost pipes are all coated in oil, can only guess its got the whole 5 litres of oil in when it was last serviced, cos theres no way of telling what level the oils at, i hope anyway!
