[Mk2] [Turbo] Wiring Loom - odd wire?

Hi guys, whilst my engine was out i decided to tidy up the loom and fix any connectors etc... any found this wire which has been cut and then added to seperately.

Any ideas what its for?

Looks like some sort of bodged repair to the starter motor relay wiring to me.
