You are a man possessed!!!

Looks great and definitely an inspiring read. I have had to put a lot on hold at the moment whilst i am redecorating parts of the house and am now itching to get out and do bits on the car!!

Lol, I certainly am. I'm moving next month so I'm trying to get as much done to it as possible before I get caught up with sorting out the house. I think that the car will be a nice relaxing hobby up to another house refurb.

Looking forward to seeing more updates on your thread :thumleft:

I'm getting a knocking from the front over harsh bumps - it's not the suspension. Pretty sure that it's the bushes so that will be my next task (that and the front ball joints)

Then it's hopefully V6 time

Oh and thanks for that pic Jack! Lol.

Whilst no physical progress has happened on the car since the photos a lot of time has been spent planning and talking to people ... I've also moved some money around in some of my accounts and been in contact with a very nice mr2 specialist :thumleft:

Let's just say that within the next couple of months the car will change completely. Its going the V6 route but the full details are being kept under wraps until the car has started to be ripped into

Oh the polybushes, track rod ends, front ball joints are also going to be attacked along with the car undergoing a full laser 4 wheel alignment and a few other bits :thumleft:

My car is going to be dealt with by Peter from Sbits :thumleft:
I trust him fully and I've seen his handy work before so I know that the car is in good hands and that he has a similar attention to detail and taste as I do

There will be a few special little bits and bobs done to the engine and added to the car :D

I'm certain that EOR is going to turn out lovely; I can't wait!! I've even sorted out the insurance in preperation for it (luckily this is all falling in at the same time as my renewal :thumleft:)

Peter has full artisic license on the car and engine whilst its with him so expect something special

Updates will start shortly ... so watch this space :thumleft:

Tiny update for today

I wanted to keep the OEM look of the rear, but with a bit of a refresh and something a bit different. So I started to have a look at the lights and how they could be modified :-k

I don't like rogue rear lights, didn't want them tinted and didn't want rev3+ in there (I like the fact its a different and somewhat dated look)

After discussions with Wolfie308 from on here it was decided to make up clear light inserts. These will replace the amber sections in the lights, and I've been told that there are currently only 4 other light clusters that are rev1 which have had this done. So it will be OEM+, very rare, and look lovely :thumleft:

So I've removed my old lights and packaged them up

Image

They are being sent off to Wolfie, where he is going to polish up the existing units and clean them up like new. He will then remove the old amber section and replace accordingly :D

He is going to keep me updated with pictures for the build thread :D

The more hawk eyed amongst you will notice from older photos that I already have red corners so this will finish it off perfectly

There should be some V6 updates coming shortly as the donor Lexus 4x4 is being transported to the workshop tomorrow \:D/

Well the day has come - today a car got delivered to Peter's for sacrafice \:D/

Its the Lexus RX300 / Toyota Harrier. It took a lot of hunting from both Peter and I but we found it eventually and it has the exact engine that I want; the 1mz-fe VVTI!!!!

Its a lot harder to find the VVTI model than initially thought. But anyway, here she is before she gets ripped to pieces for EOR :D

I'm looking forward to seeing the engine out of there, stripped down and rebuilt in a custom one-off way :thumleft:

Lol, your right; I really can't wait!
I know Peter has some interesting and unique ideas for the engine bay so it will look lovely :D

Roll on engine switch time :thumleft:

In relation to the lit clusters - Wolfie has sent me some pictures and they are looking really good. They will be a nice addition to the car I think. They should be fitted next week when I return from holiday

Peter said its a lovely car and engine
I almost feel guilty for having an angle grinder taken to the car but EOR deserves only the best! Lol.

It should be amazing when done ... Watch this space - I'm sure you'll be popping into the workshop mid build to keep an eye on it though, lol.

The car is also getting a new gearbox, LSD, clutch, poly bush, front ball joints, front track rod ends, new radiator, and other bits and bobs as well as all the little trick things that Peter is doing/adding on!!

It is going to be like a new car to drive once its finished and rather rare :D

Just spoke to Paul Woods and he believes that this is the first MR2 MK2 with this VVTI style 1MZ engine in it in the UK - breaking new ground \:D/

Good stuff mate! Yeah, I'll more than likely be having a nosey whilst the car is in the workshop

Gonna be a great conversion! :thumleft: Think that RX was around £46K in 1999!

Thanks for the kind comments
I can't wait for the conversion to start either :thumleft:

The RX certainly was a pricey car when it was first released;EOR deserves nothing less :oldtongue:

Anyway wolfie308 has been working on my rear lights as you all know. Today he has emailed me some photos of his amazing progress..

Needless to say I'm more than a little pleased with his work
He still needs to polish the plastic up to finish it all off but you can see how it's going to be looking - great!!
