Could be the best VS... Probably better than the actual VS car... I have to say though.. It should be forged.. If it was forged it would be the daddy...
Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] New mods - A work in progress (Picture Heavy!)
Thanks, high praise indeed
It will get forged one day but the simple truth is I couldn't afford to do it at this time even though it would have made sense. If you knew how much this project has cost me in parts and labour since day 1 you'd understand!

It's all going back together and we're still on target for JAE so unless we come across any last minute issues I hope to have it back sometime in the next three and a half weeks

Looking very nice Moo, hate to think of the amount you have spent so far!
Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] New mods - A work in progress (Picture Heavy!)
Visited yesterday, car is looking immense It's off the ramp and back on its wheels and practically at the point of being started for the first time since February 2011.
Not much left to do in the great scheme of things but just a little too much to get done in 3 weeks without rushing the job and potentially taking shortcuts. Having come this far and waited this long it would be daft to cobble it all back together at the last minute so I've taken the decision not to try and get it ready for JAE. Would rather wait a few more weeks and know the best possible finish had been achieved than sacrifice quality trying to get it ready in time.
I've waited for a year and a half, can wait a few weeks longer
Got a few new pictures while I was there

I didn't realise you were going as far as sound proofing the cabin etc, I'm impressed

It's looking really good
If the sound proofing makes any real difference I might be tempted to try it myself
How difficult is it to install?

I'm hoping the Dynamat should make a noticeable difference but will let you know. It's not difficult to install per se but it is a bit of a biatch to work with as it's very sticky stuff and once attached is a nighmare to get off!

That is looking goooood!
Just took mine in on Saturday for the FULL rebuild.. Dont know if i will go with the full tuck job but there will definitely be some innovative engine bay tweeks and alot of polishing
Can i ask how much all in???
Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] New mods - A work in progress (Picture Heavy!)
Cheers
Where did you take yours for the work? What does the full rebuild entail? Will be very interested to see how it turns out so make sure you start a build thread
Yes, you can ask

Yeah took it in last Saturday took it to p,works but Century motorsport will be doing the engine build..
Forged bottom end, cosworth pistons, carrillo rods, arps, etc probably something like a GT3071r..
Then body kit, re-paint in army green lavish amounts of carbon fiber, under tray, front splitter, rear diffuser (all in carbon)
Active exhaust with screamer pipe, interior re-trim.. The list goes on...
Basically I want to build the car I have always wanted.. No compromise..
It all started with the rims. and once you get started.......
So go on then.. How much??? Make me feel better about what im about to spend!!!

Wow, that's a big wish list! Your car certainly will be awesome when it's done Lovely looking rims
To be honest I don't know exactly how much this project has cost me. Way more than originally intended that's for sure! The difference between you and me is that you sound like you're going into this fully commited and expecting to spend a lot of money where in my case I was pretty much forced into a situation where I had little choice but to spend a lot more than I had initially bargained for. It's probably best if I stop at this point as the memory of my experience with Pacific Works is a bitter one and this will turn into a rant if I continue. I just hope that you have more luck with Pacific Works than I did!
Back to my car, had a little bit of a set back last week. Coolant was added prior to the engine being fired up for the first time which then proceeded to pour out of the heater matrix and radiator. Dash has now got to come out to replace the heater matrix, not yet sure if the rad leak can be repaired. The good news is there were no leaks from anywhere in the engine bay or boot.
