replaced this,(50 quid from toyota lol) only had the problem 2 years its doing my head in. i remove the relay in the frunk in the colder times to shut the fans off. ivechecked the fuse in the footwell also

still its not the way forward, car temps are all fine had a service recently and replaced the thermostat.

any ideas? earthing issue?

I think the fans come on when the circiut is open.

Check the cables going to the sensor have not broken.

If this is the same as celica - fans will stay on if any of the cooling/aircon sensors are broken/disconnected.

Hence why when you disconnect the rad sensor the fans pop on full, and the sensor should break the circut once it reaches a certain temp.

I tested mine on a multimeter yesterday and the hotter it was the more resistence it showed.

The fans stay on permanently when the aircon circuit is broken, but how should you loop the circuit for proper functioning fans if you keep the aircon removed?

bridge the wires that go to the temp sensors in the aircon rad and the pipe on the right side of the frunk. If you still have the aircon ECU it will work as normal.

I kind of removed everything a/c related so I don't really know which wires we are talking about  . I recall seeing an image on here of this modification..
