Rev2 N/A Slow at slow revs?

Recently picked up a Rev2 N/A off a previous IMOC member, and its been a while since I've driven an N/A but I can't help feel this one is lacking some low down power.

I know the car wasn't made with low rev grunt in mind! but compared to my birds Swift Sport the thing seems to take ages to pick up pace. When its about 4k-5k revs it seems to fly :/

I have a new thermostat to fit as the temp gauge only ever reach 1/4 way, and the exhaust also blows a bit from the flexi pipe (Mongoose with decat)

Could these be contributing to power/torque low down? :|
