How can I post images?

Post by zak80 »

Hi

Can anyone help? I'm trying to post pictures of my supercharger on here. I can get as far as previewing the pics but when I click submit, a message appears saying I need to make more posts before I submit "URL"s.

Is there any way around this? If not, how many posts do I need to make before I can submit the images?

Thanks

I bought the car back in November last year but unfortunately ran into a problem with the charging system, which took a while to get fixed. Finally got it all sorted, and also sorted out the speedometer which hasn't been working.

Its good to have the car back on the road!

Good stuff, Zak and welcome aboard. :+:

We too would love to see pics, but blame those spammers!

I've had a couple of supercharged MK1's, there is a good amount of knowledge knocking around here.

Why not tell us more about your car, colour, manual/auto what's been done to it, is it stock etc. :+:

My supercharger is a late model, 1989, G reg, in mica blue, and has white alloy wheels. It is a manual model and in pretty good condition.

Previous owners of this car, I believe, have been or still are members on this site.

Its had quite a lot of work done to it over the years, and the previous owner spent a fair amount of money getting it mechanically sound.

Unfortunately, a short while after I bought it, I ran into problems with the charging system/alternator, which is now fixed, thanks to Peter Gidden from Sbits.

Also, I believe it has had the abv mod done. The car is pretty quick although it does need a service to iron out a few minor issues.

It also has a stainless steel exhaust system that sounds rather nice, although a little on the loud side.

Seems an interesting car Zak :)

Were you specifically seeking a Mk1 S/C or was it just a chance buy ?

My car is also a 1989 model, N/A T-bar in Ice Blue Mica

Have owned it 15.5 years approx

Have never seen an S/C model "in the flesh" nor can I remember ever seeing one for sale

The proprietory brands of S/S exhaust seem to be a bit loud (possibly because they use only a single box whereas the stock system has two)

Do you intend to use the car for trackdays / motorsport ?

Thanks Cartledge_uk for posting up the pictures on my behalf, and thanks for your comments about the car.

I must admit, when I bought this car, I had never come across a SC nor did I know they even existed, until I saw this one advertised on a forum. I instantly knew this was one of a kind, and I was specifically looking out for something different and this was surely different from the rest.

My daily runner currently is a 91 CRX vtex siR and that too is a lovely car, and one I thoroughly enjoy driving, I've had that for over 4 years, fresh import from Japan.

I've actually not done any track days on either of these cars although it could be something I'm interested in in the future.

If you do opt to do trackdays make sure you fit an oil cooler.get one off a UK car along with a UK sump.

Hi Zak. Well done getting this car.

It was I think, owned by member on this forum BARNEY_MK1 at this time last year.

He recently said he should never have sold it ...so think you've got a great example.

Enjoy the experience. Like you I have odd problems with mine now and then but it's worth it :D .

So the S/C has no oil cooler Lauren

That's surprising :-k

Not that surprising, Peter. UK spec cars got better suspension (i.e. all had rear ARB's) and oil coolers as the speed limit is higher in the UK and there was/is a perception that UK cars are driven harder.

My SC had an oil cooler (it was a UK car conversion). All my friends had original SC's. We all tracked our cars. Mine was the only one not to cook it's bearings.

This is why I wouldn't track my AE86 until I had fitted an oil cooler.
