[Mk2] [NA] New battery - which one?

Post by RobPhoboS »

Hey guys I'm away from home and it seems like my battery has gone flat. The alternator was replaced recently, so I don't suspect that's the issue.
The battery in the car is physically the wrong size, so I had thought about replacing it anyway. I'll nip down to halfords but I can order via ebay etc if cheaper and get it delivered to the hotel if needs be.

Cheers for any help.

Hmm, I just fired up the car and it was ok. Reluctant to start and a bit of a low idle. So I'm not sure quite what is causing that as it's fine normally, perhaps the sea air it's not used to.

Can anyone confirm if this battery will be suitable ?
Or if it's a bit cack, an alternative ?

It's the battery, had an AA guy run a test and start the car for me.

Should be cheaper than that direct from Toyota, if your dealer does a club membership discount.

I'm currently in Swansea, there is a dealership in town, so I can nip down and have a look when a colleague is back. I also found a motor factors but their one is £70.
I don't mind paying up to that price but if you think Toyota themselves could be better I'll try them.

They have been in the past, if the parts manager gives you a bit off for being a club member. Some do, some don't.
