yes the 245/40 will be a little higher than a 215/40, but that look isnt a bad thing imo.
its a probably a preference thing.
id go with 215/40 and 245/40 if it were me.

Having also had 17" wheels with 205/40 and 255/40 and 235/40 I think 16s offer the best comprimise between looks handling and comfort

Re: JDM wheels
Tried to order 245.35.17 no stock anywhere of toyo tyres, so guess 235.40.17 is the way to go!
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
Most big brands are out of stock,
it's an unpopular size I'm thinking hence no one stocking them.
Even toyo don't have any and they cannot say if and when they'll get them in!!
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
BTW.
Anyone have any ideas what these wheels are??
Thanks

Hi Marf, is your 2 on standard suspension setup? looks pretty sweet on 16s, what profile and width tyres are on the picture?

245/40/17 makes the speedo more accurate than a 245/35/17, as well as looking better and giving a more comfortable ride.

well at least from my experience on both my mr2's, i've had them on 8" rears for the last 7-8 years

I've bought those now for the rear.

Yep, stock suspension apart from sbits style droplinks and 205/50 and 225/45, as above

Have you thought about ebaying them? Genuine BBS LM generally fetch good money if advertised correctly.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
what about drift works and wheelwhores?
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
I'd imagine your wheels would sit very well on either an RX7 or 200SX/S15

if the mr2's speedo was accurate to start with, the 245/35 would keep it more accurate

EDIT: i'd have thought you'd get good money for the LM's with good tyres, 1k maybe?

Hi Steve

Long time!

![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
I bought the tyres in sizes above as back in the day, you and Bry recommended them.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
But I have to agree, that the 40 profile is better as I have this on the current 18's I have now.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
Maybe I'll have a punt on ebay as a classified ad for
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
I would have thought these wer worth easily 1k and as jim had only put new tyres on recently too.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
Steve, any ideas what wheels Ive just bought? Pg1??
Re: JDM wheels
yeah they've got to be worth at least 1k to the right buyer, didnt Jim put sticky rear tyres on that cost about
£500?
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
i've not seen those wheels before, had a quick look on wheelspecs.com couldnt see them on there.![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
i think someone made a post on here or mr2oc with loads of JDM wheel names and pics, might be worth having a hunt for that

Easily worth a grand, especially in the condition they're in and with those tyres!
