Not factory as such but I believe that a very small number of prototypes were built by a coachbuilders under Toyota's direction with a view to a production version that never happened.

That interior is all wrong. It's a late car with mish mash of early door cards and seats and oh and the lovely blue dash!

That is the best looking MK1 I've ever seen. Can't believe Toyota didn't put these into production.

Shame Woodsport or others don't offer this mod...

EDIT: JUST TO NOTE I WAS TALKING ABOUT THE RED ONE IN THE OTHER LINK NOT THE eBAY DOG!!!

(just in case you think I'm blind or something)

Paul has done most of the work towards building a cabrio in the past but it never got finished. I'm sure if someone threw a big enough pile of cash his way he'd have no problem building one.

Don't like the thing at all

Ugly hood, nasty wheels, mishmash interior & that horrible dark stripe over the middle. YUCK :!:

Just one thing : it may be slightly lighter :)

Maybe not though cos of the scrap metal crossbraces & sill strengtheners

& $10K  He's havin a laff :!:

Nice to see one but meh!
If you can't see the angle, you're in trouble.

Looks terrible, ruins the lines. Why bother when you can have a T-Bar.

Still very rare and collectable.

I want it

I wouldn't mind it as a collectors item!
$10K, then shipping, Duty, it'll be over £10K landed.

And if you look at it, it isn't a very well loved example. Missing petrol cap, manky side skirts, poo wheels, 144K miles...hmmn!

i always wondered what one would look like but i dont like it. if it had a hard roof you could take off it would be nicer but i dont like that fabric roof look on it, and i agree it looses the lines that i love on the car.

Good to see tho i didnt know they even made one.

Looking at the leading edge of the hood, I suspect top-speed would be rather limited with the hood up.

It's mildly interesting but let's face it, it's a dog and so is the concept executed in that manner.

Heaven forbid but, if your dog ever had a rear end issue and had to haul his or her ass around in one of those 'dog's ass carts' - I'm sure it'd select some nicer looking wheels.

Saw a spaniel with wheels t'other day

He was scooting along nicely

Hope Daisy never needs them though
