Perhaps if he wasn't like a stuck record and ignored moderator requests to keep it in trader feedback 'your mate' wouldn't have got banned.

I think the trader feedback was locked so he couldn't post there.
He was told he could post after the case was settled.
Then he was banned so he couldn't do anything.
Would have thought anyone would have been fed up after being treated like that.

are you repeating this for a reason, or just because nobody seemed to care the 1st time you said it?

I just read this thread but wahey, that's best news i have had all year. He did me over for £300. I knew it was only a matter of time till something like this would happen to him.

Back to original post.

Took my car to have engine changed as i couldnt be ar$ed to do it myself and used a so called highly recommened friend of the family.

A week later i got the car back. They obviously must have gone on a 5-6 day holiday while they had it. I was still finding bolts missing or loose for weeks.

Now my car either gets fixed by me or at MrTwo's

Im sorry to keep on this subject, and ban me as well if you like, but i agree with the chap - why shouldnt this be aired on a thread asking for bad experiences with garages?
i read the 'other thread' on the trader section with interest about the problems the chap was having. I note above an established member also having problems too.
I fully appreciate people have 'friends' on here, and it will always be clique, but all dogs should have their day.

It might have been sensible for the mods to open the original thread in Traders Feedback, so that both parties could update it (should they wish), following the Court judgement.

But from what i understand one party to the original thread got himself banned for repeatedly breaking forum rules.

That would appear to close the matter as far as the two original parties and IMOC are concerned.

I took my mr2 to a local garage to have the cambelt, water pump and all tensioners changed but they cocked the timing up and the belt was rubbing, when I drove it home it was horrible, misfiring all over the place. I took it back and got them to re-check it, same result, at that point I stopped messing around and just took it to 3s.

An expensive lesson, now when I want big jobs done on the car I just take it to a specialist, no point risking it with someone that might get it wrong.

In relation to the gtschris comments - As previosuly stated I started this thread up so that I knew I wasnt alone in being ripped off or stung by a garage

I certainly didnt want it to become a controversial thread or become personalised by singling out specific people (just experiences)

I have no problem with the mods locking/closing this thread in order to prevent arguments/users being blocked :thumleft:

Yes then he spammed the board with it after being told he could post AFTER the case, then he got banned. So he did himself out of being able to post after the case. Now we all know what happened. Next time 'your mate' might listen to moderator requests. Might.

What does 'spammed the board' mean?
He posted junk adverts or something that was untrue?
Doesn't sound like him tbh.

My family mechanic of 20 years threatened to break my legs once, I told my mum, he phoned and apologised about an hour later and my car was ready the very next day :D You dont mess with my mum!
