Auto Tilt Mirrors

Post by Seanie »

Hello All
Has anyone ever fitted auto tilt mirros to their Mr2?
I would save a fortune on my alloy wheels if i had this.
my old car had it so when you select reverse the mirros tilt automatically then return to the correct place.
Can anyone think of a company that sells a module that once reverse is selected they tilt down for a selectable amount of seconds and then return once reverse is de-selected?

Also what about auto retact mirrors is there a guide on this that i can do at the same time as auto tilt?

Cheers All

I'm guessing he means retract when the engine is turned on and fold when it is turned off?

I have done it so they fold with lock and unlock.

I think he wants them to tilt when reversing. Women use them instead of learning how to park. Or just leave the car 12" from the kerb.

The wing mirrors are electric and the control switch is smack next to you on the driver door, just use your finger to move the mirror down so you can see the kerb and the wheel!

This post is like having the remote control next to you on the armchair and asking someone else to press the button.

Seriously, is it worth the hassle? Regards the auto retract I remember a while back a couple of people got this working, they would retract when switching off the engine, but again, there is a button you can press to make this happen whenever you want (providing your car has the motorized retracting mirrors) so why waste time on it? Just press the retract button before you step out the car.

It's easy unless you have a Toad alarm... just 2 wires and some diodes in the driver's door.

WRT the auto lowering mirrors... you can use any old off-the-shelf kit but I've only seen them in the states.
