Not a good race for the old 2 with all that dirt track but still a lovely end to the series... He should of got a tubby though :twisted:

I don't think the winner was a tubby but James' choice was a Mk.2 rev. 1 by the looks of it.

The green one wasn't in the same race class as James' NA, and had a raised vent engine lid - so i'd guess it was a tubby.

That was my sisters boyfriends old MR2 (James Mays) he bought it after a bit of persuading from me. Was immaculate when he bought it about 3-4yrs ago and other than a scuff on the wing and paint fade it was in good condition when he sold it 6months ago.. Been a hard 6months for her by the looks of it but what a way to go huh!

Now that James May has experienced how much fun an MR2 is he will consider it for future Top Gear challenges. Hopefully a turbo car with a full bottle of windscreen wash so he can see around the track ;-)

Not for one minute do I think that James May would rock up himself to buy a car for a challenge but I for one would refuse to sell one of them my car for fear of it being destroyed. Unless it was going to be too expensive to put it back on the road.

That said it was great seeing a couple of 2's on Top Gear.
