I wouldn't use paint stripper! You'll melt the plastic!

The previous owner of my mr2 has tinted my tail lights and I don't like the look. I have tried cellulose thinners, White spirit and petrol but that paint is stubborn!
Are there only one kind of tail lights for rev 3 > mr2? Factory I mean, not those gash lexus style items.
Thanks, stu.
Nail varnish remover works as I remember a lad in an xr2 with black tinted lights being involved in a crash sending someone to the shop for some so they could clean the tint off.
I bought some rare Japanese wheels where the clear plastic centre cap had been painted in silver when the wheel was refurbished. Someone said to try brake fluid - this didn't touch it.
I got some 1500 grade wet and dry paper and got cracking. Took 30 minutes and I got 100% of the paint of. I followed this up with a good polish using Meguiars Plast-X and they have come up looking brand new.....
well i have just bought another MR2, seems an expensive way of getting another set of lights but oh well.. lol. i will see what the condition of these lights are like, and if they aren't in good nick, i will try the sandpaper method stated above.
thanks for the continued respsonses! stu.

I think you're the only man in history to buy another MR2 to change out the rear lights!!
Those rev6 rear lights were truely awful quality, the units leaked and would get condensation/algae in them, and the moulds were vacuum formed not injection moulded so the fit aint the best on any ive seen

If I had the space, given the price of Rev3+ NA's, I would probably have 2 or 3 SORN'ed for spare parts and breaking
What ever you do mate, do not use cheap tint remover as it destroys the plastic. Used it on my old rev 3 lights and it destroyed the plastic lense. Was well cheesed off.
Lol thanks for the post. I'll learn from your mistake... Lol.
I have now got the new car and swapped the lights over, so i have a none tinted pair of tail lights on there now, looks soooooo much better
