Rev1/2 light centre panel choices....

Post by KarlBristol »

I was just wondering what centre panel options there are for between the rear lights for the Rev1/2?

I currently have a smooth fiberglass cover over mine, with the original underneath.

I fancy something a bit different - which other ones are around??

Hhhhmmm. Some good ideas there....

Carbon fibre doesnt really go with my car unfortunately and knowing what eBay is like it wouldn't fit right anyway, lol.

Not a fan of rev3+ lights and centre panel. I prefer the squarer Rev1 lights.

What do the el-glow ones look like?

Are there any produced that are just straight slatted grills - like the original but without the MR2 sign? I love the rear of the car, just don't like the MR2 sign.

Yeah , got two sets of lights, will probably spray the reverse lights with red tint spray and fit the fogs in there, never got my reverse lights working with the v6 conversion

I reckon the best center panel for the MK2 is the stock rev 2 JDM panel, with the 2 bars :thumleft:

Its novel and looks good, but I dont like names and badges on cars

Thinking of just a slatted grill...

Ive got that one on my car atm with a panel covering it up.

I think straight vents like the one above would be the best of both worlds

Are there any other aftermarket ones which dont cost quite as much as the one I like?

Interesting, that one I posted is from an import.

The UK cars rev 1 & 2 had this panel:

see the difference :thumleft:

Sorry - my mistake. At a glance on my phone they looked identical, lol. I can see the difference now...

IMO he one you originally posted would look perfect if it didn't have the MR2 sign in the middle! lol.

Here is how my car looked when I first got it...

Here is how it looks currently:

I just fancy a bit of a change, and go for a full slatted area.

I have seen this on eBay though, and I do quite like how he has modified his:
