went for a catch up in the pub today with someone who has been at uni, nice pub on the outskirts of wilmslow cheshire so not renowned for trouble. i was in there for just over an hour cam out and my rear windscreen had a nice hole in it.
ive rang the police who are can't do a thing, standard.
so now a couple of questions
1. will i have to pay my excess or loose no claims if i ring the insurance. im 22 with 4 years no clain=ms un protected. just managed to get a reasonable quote to put my car back on the road after 9 months of it sitting on the drive. i can't afford to have a claim or loose my no claims bonus so may have to fix it myself depending on the answer.
2. has anyone got a really good nik rear screen that they might want to sell cheap or trust me to pay for at the end of the month, through some sort of agreement.
it's been one of those weeks :/

Bummer dude
don't go thro insurance as i'm sure your excess is gonna be way more than a good used glass.
hope you sort it soon

Re: had a marble thrown through my rear window
Isnt glass breakage normally like £70-£80 quid and they send autoglas out to fit a new screen, surely this is standard with your insurance? You dont lose your no claims for getting glass broken.

Re: had a marble thrown through my rear window
Glass breakage usually will not count against your NCB nor will it appear as a claim.
There is no harm in ringing your insurance company and asking the question.

Must have been a powerful throw! Black widow slingshot maybe?

Re: had a marble thrown through my rear window
well ye i never thought about a slingshot but when someone mentioned it the other day i figure it must have been.. it went right through the window and left a mark on my boost controller so to carry that sort of power through a thick piece of glass it can't have just been a throw.
im presuming it's kids walking around playing with on and they have seen my car and decided it's to good an opportunity to miss. not the kind of thing you would expect in that area but i might just take a couple of detours down that way and see if i can see anyone playing around with one.

you will have to declaire it on your insurance. My Dad had to when he had a screen replaced but dont know if it makes much difference in the price
