Cheers for the ARB info.

Can anyone confirm if it's a 1b front disc you can use on the rear for the mk2 22v caliper upgrade?

And will the mk1a front disc be ok with ST165 calipers or do I need 1b discs?

Also, anyone got the necessary parts for sale to do this ST165 and mk2 22v caliper upgrade?

Thanks, Sean.

I run Hawk Racing pads on my AE86. Used the same on my old DC2. They are excellent pads but do generate huge quantities of brake dust.

I used to be on the forum, Sean.

I went to a few of the meets at Chill Factor and the odd drive out.

Have to say, handling wise it was like a scalpel, such a precision tool. Would be hard to think of something quicker on a decent A or B road. Was amazing on track too. :+:

I miss and loved both my Integra's, the 250bhp one was a bit of a handful, correction - off the chain! Loved my standard one too!

Learned alot in the process of getting 250bhp out of the 1.8

The key was increased compression, cams, timing, lightened flywheel and bigger injectors, of course ECU tuning is equally important.

That didn't need intake or exhaust mods, just airfilter ex manifold and high flow cat, the rest was standard var fuel pressure regulator.

The mk1 mr2 is way less complicated.

Finally bought a full set of Black Diamond Predator Discs, £78 from Demon Tweeks front & rear :D

When ill get round to fitting them though is unknown, to do list:

Braided hoses
Brake Pads
Brake Fluid
Lowering Springs
Rear Mk2 ARB
Jimi Bracket
Remove air box (already fitted K&N Cone filter)
Fit new wheels tyres

Found some Magnecor competition ignition leads in the loft, off my old Integra Type-R - not sure if they will fit but ill give it a go

Peter, I wouldnt want you to feel how i feel to be honest :( The reason i wont get round to fitting the parts any time soon is because i had a fire at my house and have had to move out, thank god the MR2 wasnt harmed, but its now living in temporary accomodation :pale: the garage it now fills is not as big as mine at home so wont be working on the MR2 plus im busy sorting out my life & furniture after the fire :(

But i had a golden opportunity to buy the brake pads which were the final parts on the shopping list, so this gave me a lift and something to look forward to :D

That's DREADFUL Sean :(

What was the cause of the fire ?

Is your house repairable ?

Peter

PS Wondered why we hadn't heard from you for quite a while

Dishwasher decided to destroy itself one Sunday evening after putting it on a few hours earlier, whilst on standby and cooling down we nipped out and came back to a nightmare...

Our newly refurbished and extended house was ploomed with smoke, consequently half the kitchen destroyed, all of downstairs flooded, everything caked in soot, i could go on...

Needless to say its been pretty awful having to seemingly move house except everything you move is filthy and smelly :(

On the bright side thank god we didnt put the dishwasher on at night, could of been a different story!

Luckily the wall and door from the utility room to the garage conforms to fire regulations so all is well with the MR2 8)

DRL's = Daytime Running Lights, anyone :?:

Ive always thought my front side-lights were always a bit weedy, so i upgraded the bulb to the best you can buy as side-light bulbs go, but im still not happy.

The government is introducing DRL's as standard at some point on new vehicles, and ive always liked to modernise my cars in some way without ruining the standard look, but modernising within reason and realms of possibility.

I know it has kind of been done but unfortunately the pcitures have been removed (see link below)

But without a great deal of fabrication id like to swap out the side-light bulb assembly and replace with DRL's, but still run it off the side-light switch, so...

1. Is that legal?
2. Is it a case of, remove the light cover and swap, snip & solder?

Perhaps Douglas still has the pics & could replace them on that thread Sean ?

I find it difficult to understand his description without them

Think this happened before on another thread with pics hosted by Photobucket

Dont know why :?

I believe DRL's have to switch off when headlights are turned on, to conform to regulations, on reading the thread Douglas has the DRL's off when the sidelights come on, maybe i should give this more thought...

Tbh the sidelights whilst weedy are fine. If you're worried just go to dipped beam straight away. :+:

My idea was to run DRL's aswell as the dipped beam as a sidelight upgrade, but that is ilegal, so maybe ill look for a better sidelight setup instead
