Well it removes any lingering doubt as to whether your rocking a turbo or not!

Did you notice any difference other than noise wise?

I bought my Rev 5 Turbo which is fitted with an HKS SSQV and i cringed all the way home due to the stupid woooooshhhh noise that it made, even at low revs. It made me drive slower because I hated the noise.

I understand that they are a quality product so I contacted an HKS supplier to buy an adaptor to fit a recirculating pipe, only to be told that they were not available. I didnt have the original Rev 5 BOV to retro fit so I had an adaptor made for the HKS unit. All is fine now with just a slight noise on lift off just to let people know that it is a real tubby.

mine was a rev2 with only decat, exhaust and air filter so is fairly standard. I didnt notice anything tbh, it ran fine before and ran fine after too.

ok geek time..

like I said on another thread, the stock DV stays open until you've reached positive manifold pressure (during spool up) which in theory spins her up faster.

So THE best dumpvalve for performance is the standard one.

Perfect answer. It might be fugly but if it's the best option it's the only way to go :thumleft:

I guess the OEM re-circulating valve is the same for all revisions?

One more question: What's the boost limit that the stock diaphragm can handle?

If you get a 2nd hand OEM BPV, just make sure it passes the checks in the BGB

Had many customers over the years running 22-23psi on stock BOV. Remember, as boost increases, pressure keeping it shut increases. The OEM BOV can't leak under pressure, regardless of the pressure achieved.

Begs the question of why on earth you'd trade that for a good awful noise?! It's all subjective I guess and age

It does? Might keep it then, or buy a bigger one

Hopefully tomorrow Royal Mail will finally deliver a parcel which will end the noise for me.
