starts up fine but as soon as i take my foot of the gas it stalls, if i keep the revs at 2000 to warm it up for 5 mins its ok, is this the cold start injector thats gone, or maybe cold start temp switch?
any ideas chaps

This is whats been happening to mine also. Starts up and then cuts out after a few seconds. Ive replaced the coil pack, cold start injector relay and now going to put a new cold start injector in.
Should know by next week if it has sorted it out..............

Other things worth checking:
Engine temperature sensor (can't remember which one the ECU uses to determine if cold start conditions exist - I think water temp)
Idle control valve - Remove throttle body to access and clean that beast out with carb cleaner.

There isn't one. More likely to be the cold start injector timer switch gone faulty.
