Paint work restoration

Hi all,

i just bought a MR2 MK2 and its red, well supposed to be but its a bit faded, what would the best polish etc to use on it to try and restore it to its former glory?

Kev, to do the job properly you'd really need a machine polisher. Meguiars 205 is a great polish for this kind of thing with the right machine pad.

Make sure you seal in the hard work once you have got the paint restored otherwise you need to polish it all the time. I'm based in Glasgow but could do a weekend in Aberdeen to sort it?

+1 get it polished properly and you will get the car looking like new!

The paint on my 2 was looked pretty poor when I bought it. However 10+ with a machine polisher, hand polishing and a few coats of wax and it looks spot on. A lot of work but worth the effort when it's done. A damn sight cheaper than a spray job!
