[Mk2] [Turbo] 17x9 +45 offset - photos - thoughts?

Post by b4ss »

Hi,
Does anyone have a couple of photos of a 17x9 +45mm offset wheel fitted to the back of an MR2.

According to http://mr2.gordaen.com/wt_calc.php it will be 'in' around 10mm, I want to see if it looks ok.

Also if anyone has any comments on fouling suspension/arches that would be great.
Thanks,
Tony

With a stock bodied MR2, I would think ET42 would be fine, as per the pic above. With a bodykit though, they me seem a bit sunk in the arches.

Go +35 if you want something sensible that doesn't rub. If you don't mind getting the roller and mallet out, go lower offset and push those rims out. They look so much better with a lower offset.

As above +35 on 17x9 rear will be flush, but you'll need the arch lips rolling.

Thanks for the photo and tips :)

I would love +35, but the supplier can only get the wheels i want in
17x9 +25 or 17x9+45.

That's what's recommended to keep the rolling radius as stock mate (Rev2+)

No, 235/40's. I tried getting 245/35s but Elite didn't have them :(

235/40 is very close to stock though, just not as wide as I'd like.

255/40/17s suit 17x9 wheels, but will need arches rolling more than likely. Especially on ET35.

Only thing is, it knocks the speedo out, but it seems to over read by 5 mph anyway

I went with +45mm -

Couldn't get them in that colour from uk supplier.

Now to source some tyres, i am going to try and get 245/35s
Thanks,
