Sorry, Speed reading. just seen it come up a few times in replies.

Honestly, I would not go anymore than .9 on the stock bottom end. Rev 3 HG or not.

No worries :)

I'm very new to the game of modifying engines, so any and all advice is appreciated. Especially when it stops me ruining an engine.

I've done a 12 quarter in a rev3, reckon you could in a rev2 but rev3'ed up.

whos mapping the FCON?
ive heard places charge a fortune to map these suckas...

ct20b, 15-16psi, bolt ons should see anything from 250-280hp
metal HG, ecu, 17psi and rev3 injectors to the the mix, should see 280-300+.
add some cams, maybe even 300-320hp on a stock engined rev1/2.

i made 301hp, 290lb with pfc, rev3 efi conversion at 17psi and bolt ons (255whp on a dyno dynamic dyno). that was on my old rev2, has lasted very well at this level.

bare in mind thse 275whp limits are limits set on a dyno jet, so is that 365whp on a ct20b record. we dont have dynojets over here (least not many?), i would take these numbers with a pinch of salt.

On the same vein (and hopefully the OP wont see it as a thread hijack), I have a UK rev4 and have also purchased a '94 accident damaged turbo model with lowish ,ileage (around 65k) and some history

. I am in two minds as to whether to do a straight engine swap (and ancillaries) from the tubby to the UK spec or to try and repair the turbo car but either way, I would like to try and see as close to 300bhp as possible.

After reading the thread am I right in thinking the CT26 wont get to that without a lot of money being chucked at it? I was thinking of changing the d/p to a 3" model. fitting an electronic BC, using a charge cololer from a ST05 (inc a new fiat rad), getting a new exhaust and upping the boost to 1bar.

To hit the 300 mark, what else would be required?

Hah probably less fuelling from the ECU.

Have you seen a a/f plot for a gen3 3sgte on boost? The plot fall through the floor quicker than the demand for Greek government bonds.

I'm sorry, I got my facts wrong. It is a Gen 2 turbo car not a gen 3.
