[Mk2] [Turbo] Speedo goes up when I accelerate..........................

When I give it put my foot down, the speedo has started to shoot up to say 50 if I am doing 30? Is this a sensor issue of some kind?

It just jumps up and down, all over the place when the accelrator is pressed.

Any ideas?

! Someone else with this problem! I've been driving for ages knowing that my 30mph is actually 20mph, compared against several factory friends cars + GPS etc etc. Well, time for a new sensor I guess

check the connector on top of the speedo sender on the gearbox, it is know to collect water and connections perish and cause the same results, had that on my celica, also if its an import, then check behind the clocks for a converter chip, a loose wire can cause same too
