Ideally i would love a decent wireless system but then i cant justify the expense if i can get wired for a fair bit cheaper.

The Sony ones do seem the ideal middle ground being both wireless and more affordable.

astro A40's yes they are expensive but DAYYYYMMMMMNN they are awesome.
i have the wireless version and they are crystal clear. i payed about £240 for mine but they are 7.1 surround and the mic is perfectly clear. no more having the tv quite at night to not wake the other half lol

To answer the actual OP I dont think you could beat the Astro's as The Best

Just had another look at the PX5 and found they use AA batteries! man... aint no lithium jobbie!

I'd just buy a double set of rechargeables for them and have 1 set charging and 1 set in the headset.

Or buy the Astros cos they're awesome
