[Mk2] [Turbo] Rev 2 Turbo Exhaust and Downpipe gaskets

Post by silver surfer »

I recently purchased a new exhaust and decat downpipe. Probably going to get a local garage to fit them for me. Question is where can I get the appropriate gaskets to fit all the pieces in place?

Also, is there anything that I am missing that they will need for fitting as well? I'm guessing I'll need a gasket to fit the exhaust to the downpipe and a gasket for the downpipe fitting as well?

Thanks! :thumleft:

IMHO...genuine toyota turbo/downpipe gasket ... cheap £5 ebay gaskets seem to work but don't come off very well, I have blown a couple with inferior filling but that was before I braced my downpipe...I have re-used my turbo/downpipe gasket when I swapped my blower, no probs/blows.

for the turbo -> downpipe, use a toyota genuine one. Yes it will be more expensive but for a good reason... as for downpipe -> exhaust, you can use a 3rd party one, at least if it blows, it's easier to replace.

That's great thanks guys, I'll give toyota a call now. I wasn't aware they'd stock parts for an import mr2 turbo.

Do they have a website where you can look up parts etc?
