A few niggles took some time but hopefully it'll be back v soon. Compression test results excellent and apparently it sounds luuurvly. Thanks for all the encouragement... and the words of caution. It's good to have both, I just hope it turns out well and runs another 3 or more years for sentimental reasons I guess. And it's just now as I like it.

I told Nick to put some low mileage clocks in there, I thought you'd appreciate it

Well I've only driven it the few miles home but I have to say it feels like a new engine particularly at the top end (Luke did some fettling to the exhaust manifold as well as the rest of the clean up) and sounds great. Looks fabulous as well. Tomorrow I'll take it and show it a motorway and see how the temps hold...
It rolled 217k on the trip home.

Get some pics of that artwork in the engine bay up :) Good to hear she's alive again, although I'd still go for a newer lump! :D

Well just done a brisk 90 miles or so on the A1 and.... no problems to report. Better at the top end and yes it does sound a lot sweeter. A few pics of the engine bay bling in my gallery if anyone will post them up for me...

Don't tempt fate... not 250k for a while yet but thanks for the enthusiasm. Thx for the positive comments Dan and for posting the pics for me. It's not quite finished yet.... some detailing to be tidied up and a few more odds to prep and paint but you can see the effect we're going for. Now it's done some miles and temps have stayed solid I'm starting to relax a bit.

Are you 100% sure your temp that's sensor is working right? For a 15 quid second hand one might be worth a punt

Well the fans weren't cutting in but Luke managed to bleed the system and there was plenty of air in there... nothing to do with the fans. It's getting another sniffer done tomorrow but it doesn't look good either way... frankly I think I'm getting to the end of the line with it.
