Car getting Dyno'd & Power FC tuned

Post by Navz »

Hey all,

I am going to see Ryan (2Bar Tuning) to sort out my engine timing, Apexi Power FC settings (he previously mapped this) and for the first time in 8 years of ownership put my MR2 on a Rolling Road.

Just wondering what sort of figures i should expect to be looking for with the following.

Original Rev 3 3SGTE Engine (Mint Condition, fully serviced recently)
Original Rev 3 Turbo
GReddy Intercooler with Uprated new Spal fan fitted
Blitz Supersonic Induction Kit
HKS Blowoff Valve
Greddy Profec B Electronic boost controller
Magnecor KV85 Ignition leads

Not sure what it is running currently as the turbo transplant was recently completed by Luke @ Pacific Works.

I take it 310 Bhp @ 1.2bar would be the max.

As above really. If it's a healthy engine with a good tune you should see over 300.

I got 285hp on a stock ECU, TBD decat, ARC airbox, Fujitsubo exhaust and boost peaking at 0.9bar.

I've got 285bhp at stock boost as well, but the same car produced 246bhp in the same state of tune, before having a good service. Shows how important your ignition components are!

Stick to 1.15 bar.

Thanks for the responses guys :thumleft:

Power FC was DavidM's it was mapped for a Rev 3 turbo engine by Ryan.

Will post some stats when i see Ryan, i need to change my exhaust as it was made for an N/A and doesn't suit the Turbo's very well and i am losing significant horsepower becuase of it.

Luckily i found a Departure 2 from a fellow imoc'er so once that is on i will get the Dyno done and also my GReddy Profec 2 set up properly too.
