Fuel filter,how often to change?

Post by stevened »

Just doing oil and filter, and air filter change on my Mk2 NA. And was wondering how often the fuel filter should be changed and how easy this is done? Cheers folks.

It's dead easy to do, clamp the fuel line, take off the passenger side cancer bar and the filter's right there. The banjo bolts are 14mm and the bracket that holts it to the car is held on with 2 10mm bolts. When you buy the filter from Toyota it comes with the required 4 new crush washers.

I dunno how often you'd change it, it's not mentioned in my JPNZ handbook. I do mine every 2 years because I use supermarket fuel a lot.

For whats it's worth I'd do every 1-2 years for peace of mind.
They aren't that expensive.

That's outrageous.
Honda Integra ones were £24+VAT fromt the stealers.

Still. It's important to keep your injectors clean.

Interestingly I checked the EPC and they are the same part number for rev1-5 n/a and turbos. Considering the rev3+ turbos have larger fuel rails and (I believe) all turbos have larger fuel lines and a bigger fuel pump, I suspect the stock fuel filter is vastly overrated (in terms of flow rates) for the N/A :)
