NW - MR2OC vs IMOC vs Mk1Club Gokarting, Warrington - Sunday 8th October 2011
Hey all. If the thread is in the wrong place or contravening any of your rules, please feel free to edit it to within rules standards
www.mr2oc.co.uk/forums/north-west/go-ka ... 42708.html
The NW region of the mk1 club are keen to join in the fun, we thought it'd be a good idea to have Imoc involved too
It'd be a GP for £45 per person and we need 20 people to get this going (between the clubs).
A Grand Prix is an individual driver competition where people compete over a number of heats / races to accumulate as many points as possible with their sights set on qualifying for the overall Grand Prix Final. This event is not a knock out competition; all drivers will receive 5 races each (subject to punctuality of arrival, standard of driving, etc.).
Each race will have 7 / 8 drivers participating with the Grand Prix Final having 8 / 10 drivers. The event also includes tuition, practice, equipment hire, computerised timing, trophies for 1st, 2nd and 3rd and a bottle of Chateau Mersey for the winner!
So, Sunday 9th October.....
(also, I dont come on imoc all that much so if anyone would like to take over the organising of this on th imoc side, please feel free)

Maybe up for this, let me have a check an an ask around!

I'm sure I could get 3 fellow MR2 owners involved. Not been karting for years, a serious diet would be in order!
Mmmm chateau Mersey, love the stuff, tasted like a mixture of cider, lager and sewage from memory.

Ha,love it.... I've never tried it but to be fair, I didn't expect anything actually drinkable
I think we have 16 people so far between MR2OC and Mk1club, we can only book with a minimum of 20 and a maximum of 24 drivers...

Last time, Tom spun out in front of me leading to me crashing into him and exposing a tendon on my finger! It would seem that everytime I do a bit of motorsport, a trip to casualty follows!
Unfortunately Mark (the fiance) hates karting, so no plus one... sorry. Unless I can think of someone else.
Cheers for adding me to the list.

Re: NW - MR2OC vs IMOC vs Mk1Club Gokarting, Warrington - Sunday 8th October 2011
Cool, Looks like we're filled up 'provisionally'.
For the GP they require 20 Drivers as a minimum. But they can also allow an Extra 4 drivers into the GP if wanted
I'll be ringing them on wednesday and see'ing if we're not too late to book the track for us.
What I'll proabably do is.... Arrange the track time for us, and email a list of everyone who wants to go. I'll then post back up on the forums with a time-frame that everyone needs to have paid they're own (and any +1's) track fee's (£45 I think It was). I'll be trying to get this 'time-frame' as wide/long as possible so everyone has a chance to "wait till payday" (lol, like me).
Dont forget guys (and girls ) this is a GP on thier MAIN, three tier track... Not their standard track

Re: NW - MR2OC vs IMOC vs Mk1Club Gokarting, Warrington - Sunday 8th October 2011
Ok, I did ring Speedkarting up last week.... The track is currently unbooked so its still open for us
Thats the good news....
The bad news is that they wont let us all phone up seperatly and pay our own driver fee's. Because its a GP Private event they need to take the payment all at once.
I thought bout paypal but we'd have to add % to cover the fee's it would cost for us to take the cash from paypal...
I think our best (and only option so far) is to do a bank transfer for £25 per driver, non refundable deposit. Then when we arrive on the day we pay the remaining £20 per driver.
IF everybody is ok with this suggestion then I'll proceed to take deposits, if anybody doesn't like the suggestion (for the obvious reason that im not on this forum very often) then I'll have to think of another way round....
Thoughts???
