no need for the insult.

the rear spoiler in the single seater you pictured is a 3 blade design, the bulk of the air will be passing though the gap between the lower and middle blades, and the upper two providing a cantilever effect which is somewhat balanced by the massive spoiler at the front of the vehicle hence providing even downforce throughout the length of of the vehicle.

Joke, not an insult.

And i doubt most of the air will fit through a 20mm gap. The downforce is created by forcing the air up isn't it??

The spoilers, vents etc on that car are for downforce, not looks. Fact.

downforce is created by creating a pressure differnetial between the upper and lower part of the blade, forcing the air up created a cantilever effect.

think of it this way (reverse but applies)

an aeroplane wing is slightly angled but its the shape of it that creates the higher pressure under the wing to create lift. The ailerons at the rear section (the flaps) are simply directional controls by using the cantilever effect. flaps face down, air forced in a downward direction, plane gets lower. flaps face upwards, air forced upwards and the place goes up

or something like that.

and frankly, the point of this thread was about how it looks, not its performance. and i dont like the way it looks.

That's a good point. This car's like shiny leather jacket with zips and a lot of cleavage, oh and stupidly high stilletos  .

Just clicked on the pic to make it bigger, now its obvious its shopped, the wheels are the same, the filler in the window is pretty poor quality too.

Looks good small though.

You can say you hate the way it looks as that's all personal taste, but you also said the vents and wing were useless. Which is just not true.

That stops the air sucked into the wheel arch from getting trapped and acting like an air brake.

All of the parts you can see on that car are race functional, if it is a photoshop then it is an amazing piece of work, but if it were real then the same facts would apply.

Regarding it being a photoshop - if you look at the red sticker on both front and rear wheels, then go anti-clockwise one spoke, the light reflected is totally different.

If it was a photoshop then this level of detail would be totally uneccessary unless you spent an age on it for no gain.

The reflections over the widened rear arches are spot on too ... It's either a v v good 'shop or a genuine car.

It's not unlike the MK2 that races in the MR2 SuperGT series here in the UK...

+1 This is to vent back pressure created in the wheel wells, the front bumper will generally have a venturi for brake cooling.

I agree with this as well but the issue on the rear wing is not just to do with downforce but it also creates turbulence causing it to suck more air from the engine bay than standard. Check out the rear undertray, you will see it is curved upwards to promote airflow up intot he engine bay along with the side vents.
