Hi, im going to take another look at an MR2 turbo tomorrow, 1995 83k miles on it. Looks great in the pics and the bodywork is fine in person, but under the back it does seem like there is a bit of rust and stuff around the rear ARB etc im just wondering is this normal for this year car.
Obviously its not brand new or anything but i mean how clean is yours under there?
Also, the front 'bonnet' with the spare wheel, this area looked pretty much pristine condition. Is this totally normal or could this be a sign of a redone front end? The paintwork looks pretty straight from outside, but inside that nose compartment it was pinsharp like almost new! Is that how they are or is that possibly a bad sign?
Any help appreciated.

The inside front boot of my 100k mk2 looks pretty new, the bonnet is very pock marked though, ie I would not expect pristine paint on the bonnet.

No the bonnest might need a touch up. that is stone chipped.
The paint and the sills and the plate stamps in the front does look very new indeed, not a touch of dust or anything...

if you mean the rear subframe is rusty that really isnt a worry at all. the sub frame gets dripped on by oil, coolant, anything you can think of. They are very sturdy and if that one is really bad its not hard to put another subframe on.

As Dan said and also check the rear inner arches, especially the section where they meet up with the bumper.
