We will need a bit of help though as we are going to need to find a vet local to the show prior to our departure for Indy.

No idea if anyone can help?

Nope, she can't go...again. Looked at getting a visa but the earliest appointment at the embassy is 26th July, which is just too close as it wouldn't be issued for a week :(

So yes, passenger seat is free but I can't go until the 30th - am booked on the c.4am ferry so should get to Dudetown by lunchtime. You're welcome to it if that suits? Would just need to add you to the ferry ticket - not sure if that'd cost anything but I doubt it.

Guys, we really, really want to do this, but we need some help/advice.

Firstly, we are planning to bring Indy. She's got her passport so is all okay to travel. Deal with this is that she needs to see a vet 24-48hrs before we get on the chunnel at Calais.

It would be fab if one of our German friends could help us with identifying a vet that is local enough to use.

The question I have is, how do-able is it to drive from Calais to Dudestadt in one go? We'll stay at my mum's the night before which is less than an hour if that from Folkestone. So we'll be fresh off the train at Calais.

Obviously we can share driving, but realistically our cruising speed is 120Kmh as that's at 4000rpm(!). So, I'm guessing about 8 hours from Calais.

We'd be well up for a convoy if anyone can put up with 120kmh for hours on end.

Easy, we did exactly that last year, in both directions. Am planning to do exactly the same this year.

3 or so years ago I did Czech Republic -> Milton Keynes in one go. In a Clio. It's all doable :)

I am going with John M early early (4am crossing) on the Saturday morning this year. I was going to leave on the Friday morning, same as last year and drive the Pug, but am John's passenger instead sharing petrol and driving.
We will get there hopefully early Saturday afternoon and stay for the two nights.

Hey Lauren, Calais to Duderstadt in one trip shouldn't be big problem.
I will check for a vet in Duderstadt, and post you the adress. If you mean that ?
